Global geospatial intelligence event offers unparalleled education, training, and networking opportunities

Herndon, Virginia (Feb.22, 2016)—The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) opened registration[1]and housing[2]for its GEOINT 2016 Symposium[3], which will take place May 15-18 at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. The theme of this year’s Symposium is “ The GEOINT Revolution[4]”—in recognition of the advent and confluence of multiple technologies advancing geospatial intelligence and promoting its ubiquity.

TheGEOINT Symposium is hosted annually by USGIF and offers the defense, intelligence, and homeland security communities and other federal and civil GEOINT users and producers the opportunity to learn from senior leadersthrough an exciting agenda of keynote speeches, panel discussions, and breakout tracks. GEOINT 2016 will feature an extensive exhibit hall with more than 200 organizations[5]already registered to showcase new technologies, solutions, andservices. New YellowScan Surveyor: World's lightest and most accurate LiDAR solution for Civil Engineering & Mining professionals

Denver, CO, USA – February 22, 2016 – YellowScan is pleased to announce the global launch of its new LiDAR UAS surveying solution with highest accuracy and most dense geo-referenced point cloud data:

3cm accuracy – 300 000 shots/s – 1.5 kg

R&D development for the YellowScan Surveyor solution started in early 2015 with the same philosophy and technology foundation that has made the YellowScan Mapper so successful. With a robust and fully integrated system designed to meet the needs of most demanding survey professionals and terrain, YellowScan Surveyor is quickly and easily adapted to any drone, generating data when and where you need it.

he team has carefully selected and deployed the best high-end components for unparalleled performance; for example, the Applanix APX15 single board GNSS-Inertial solution chosen for its highly accurate position and orientation solution for direct geo-referencing.

The YellowScan Surveyor does not replace the YellowScan Mapper, but complements the YellowScan product family with a solution ideally suited for precise topography and demanding requirements for civil engineering and mining applications.

YellowScan will demonstrate its ultralight LiDAR aerial scanning system in Denver-USA on the 25 February in partnership with Juniper Unmanned. The YellowScan will be flown by Pulse Aerospace on their Vapor UAS.  Register here for the 25th[1]

Maptek technology helps secure optimum mining outcomes

All facets of mining increasingly rely on capturing and using quality data. Effective data management and analysis improves production and increases profitability. Mining technology specialist Maptek develops robust systems that apply mining data to more accurately design and model an operation.

Efficient tools for resource definition, stockpile reconciliation and conformance design, which enhance operational safety and productivity will be on show at Maptek Booth 1221 at SME[1] this week in Phoenix, Arizona.

‘Controlling expenditure remains a top priority. Many operations have been monitoring and collecting data, some for decades, and now is the ideal time to review what that data can really do,’ said Rob Hardman, General Manager North America ahead of the event.

‘Maptek monitoring and tracking systems deliver accurate, repeatable results fast. Integration with survey and planning allows operations to better understand their overall mine plan,’ Hardman added. ‘This promotes continuous learning and improvement.’

Maptek Vulcan 10[2], due for release soon, contains a wide range of new and enhanced applications for modelling and analysing data. Performance upgrades will also allow mining professionals to work more efficiently, particularly when working with large datasets.

Maptek looks forward to showing the new scheduling tools in Evolution. The dynamic cut-off grade approach optimises material movement which in turn maximises project value. Evolution can...
